Steve to Ride in Supersport at Brands

Steve is to ride for MSS Discovery Kawasaki in the final two rounds of the British Supersport championship at Brands Hatch on Sunday to cover for their regular rider Pere Riba who is unavailable, as he has to attend the Misano test in Italy.

MSS Discovery team principal Nick Morgan asked if Steve would be interested in covering for Riba at Brands Hatch and the 35-year-old rider immediately agreed.

“I started my racing career in Supersport so am comfortable on a 600cc machine,” said Steve. “I rode in a couple of rounds at Thruxton and Oulton Park earlier this year and really enjoyed the experience so I am more than happy to step into the breach for MSS Discovery on their Kawasaki at Brands.”

Steve has already racked up sufficient points from his earlier Supersport races to hold 22nd place in the rider standings and with two races at Brands Hatch on Sunday he could significantly improve his points tally.

Testing begins on Friday with two 40- minute sessions followed by qualifying on Saturday. Race one is set for a 12.25pm start on Sunday followed by the final race of the current campaign at 3.45pm.
