Silverstone Test August 2nd 05

The sun was shining at Silverstone and we had three fifty minute sessions again to find a base setting for the next round of the BSB championship on August 21 st.

Good for me to test the Hydrex Honda straight after racing the Honda Racing Fireblade to get a direct comparison between the two bikes?

Sure enough there quite different in a few area’s but the team have enough time to improve my complaints ready for the races here!

Tested different geometry settings, WP forks and shocks, different ignition mappings and front tyres.

Still haven’t had chance to test the new 200 series rear Dunlop slicks and getting fed-up with the excuses why there not available to me when most others are using them, hopefully that will change before long??

Made good progress through the sessions, the weather was being very kind and as we started our last session I was fastest rider on the circuit.

Seven laps in I lost the front at turn one over the two big bumps just before the apex, a nice peaceful low-side with hardly any damage but wasn’t able to continue for the remainder of the session.

Many went slightly faster than me & some fitted qualifiers but ended the day in tenth position. Again not too worried about times, more the fact we know where our weaknesses are and they will be ironed out before August 21 st!

Meanwhile no injuries and time to sneak off to Skiathos with a good mate of mine for some long awaited sun, sea & relaxation!
