Two full seasons of British Superbike racing since winning “Rookie of the Year” sees Steve returning to Kawasaki for some unfinished business! Regarded by many as one of the most naturally gifted riders Steve is here to make sure his presence is felt in the Bennett’s British Superbike championship. Steve 32 from Woodhall Spa became an instant hit with both fans & the paddock during his British Supersport battles. His aggressive style, skill & attitude combined with his ebullient, larger than life personality behind the scenes, instantly pushed him forward as a genuine rising star through the Superbike ranks! Three full seasons of British Superbike racing see Steve returning to full fitness from illness & injury during 2004. Those three seasons accumulated “Rookie of the Year”, seventeen rostrums & four race wins to date in the premier class. Former factory Suzuki, Kawasaki & Honda team manager Simon Buckmaster recently quoted in a magazine article, “Steve is one of the bravest riders I have ever worked with”. It was his never give up attitude that grabbed the attention of team manager Rob McElnea, “Steve has a proven track record & a huge following that stretches right back to his first days on the domestic scene. I have been aware of Steve for a long time now and after watching how he approaches his racing and the results he is getting, I am very pleased to have him on board the Virgin Mobile Yamaha’s”. |
