Aberdare Park Road Races
Now when your asked to appear any particular place you momentarily have a picture in your mind how the event will look? How wrong could I have been with Aberdare Park, my vision being a wooded type circuit in the middle of nowhere some part of South Wales. In fact the centre of town their walled park hosts a mile long circuit round a beautiful boating lake where the biggest capacity motorcycle now allowed to race being 600 Supersport. Two days of racing with plenty of charact

Ducati Trioptions Cup Round 5 - Brands Hatch GP
Two weekends off from the last round Snetterton and the championship hotting up between Collier and Guiver. Collier down to ride a Moto-2 machine also this weekend and not just Guiver would be hoping this to be a distraction as arguably he’s been the man to beat so far this season. Guiver being very local to the Brands Hatch circuit desperate not just to shine in front of the home fans but hoping to put on the pressure half way through the Ducati TriOption season. Boom 0.8 se

Mike Hailwood Tribute - Castle Coombe
Long Drive after a days riding the DirtQuake Kings Lynn but always a pleasure to be in Wiltshire especially one of the most picturesque villages in the UK. Arriving quite late at the Castle Coombe Inn and looking forward to a shower then pint or two after a fun day, the landlord not only had no booking for me but no spare rooms also. Not the Inn’s fault, mistake by the circuit but fortunately Sir Robin Millar also a guest kindly asked the landlord put single bed in his room s

DirtQuake
Dabbled at Speedway years ago….. as a fifteen year old and always felt more natural on that machinery than road racing. Over the years been regular Flat-Track racing whenever possible including some instructing. North One TV produce great coverage IOM-TT Moto-GP and now DirtQuake, promoting one the most fun, low-cost forms of two-wheeled motorsport. There invitation very quickly had a big yes all over it, even better they were organising the bike. First off I was to ride a No

Merthyr Tydfil (Dirt-biking)
Invited down to Wales by an old workmate, when I say old workmate, together in bricklaying gang for ten years before I raced. Haven’t seen him for few years, now a successful developer locally and very keen on trail riding like myself. Craig Bounds farm in Merthyr Tydfil was our base for two days riding and wasn’t sure what to expect, been many great places in Europe but of course Wales has incredibly great terrain if permission granted by the land owners. Eight of us checked

Woodhall Spa 1940's Weekend
An annual event I make sure not to book any work that clashes, great weekend with Woodhall being flooded with period vehicles, fancy dress, street traders, shows, exhibitions. Friday night friends come from all over to stay and few beers with good food enjoyed all weekend. Saturday morning the kids were off to 1940’s street party where they play games, dance and have spam sandwiches orange squash and competitions all of them dressing in period clothing. All day various shows

Ducati Trioptions Cup Round 4 - Snetterton
Snetterton 300 round-4 Ducati TriOpions, even though the guys haven’t raced for nine weeks, 40 riders lined up for free practice. Usual suspects at the front but one or two surprises and a few of the guys taking time to get on the pace with so much time off. Some of the guys been to the official test Snetterton during the break and it showed during qualifying, Collier being on record pace once again but pushed by Guiver, only 8.5 points separating them in the championship all
