Ducati Trioptions Cup Round 2 - Brands Hatch Indy

After a very busy, tough and emotional round-1, Brands Indy circuit for R2 was always going to be frantic. Stretched out over four days Easter weekend at least the weather was kind….. for our sessions and races anyway.

Decided R1 Donington to have random checks on the Ducati making sure all is even and fair front middle and rear of the field, this should be a fun, competitive class all racing same bikes/tyres with a massive grin factor.

Some of the field missing with damage or injuries from Donington we still had to have group A & B in practice/qualifying with not so much room on the Indy circuit.

The LCQ race turned out to be brilliant with great battle behind winner Joe Connolly with our fast female rider Ieva Baublyte bursting through to 2nd on last lap.

Once again Race-1 saw the same three fighting for the podium with Guiver pushing Collier very hard all race. Not quite hard enough with Collier taking a massive half second off lap record to finish in front of Guiver and Atkinson. Carl Stevens first 899 home with good ride from many while passing back markers.

Race-2 Colliers clean sweep of wins came to a frustrating end, being black flagged with a flapping fairing gave us a new championship leader. Some great battles all the way down the field but Guiver had upped his pace lapping very close to the new lap record taking his first win of the year & more importantly lead of the TriOptions championship.

Jon Railton & Phil Atkinson followed him home with hard charging Sean Neary in forth. Championship goes to Oulton like this; Guiver, Collier, Railton, Atkinson, Middlemas.
