Merthyr Tydfil (Dirt-biking)

Invited down to Wales by an old workmate, when I say old workmate, together in bricklaying gang for ten years before I raced. Haven’t seen him for few years, now a successful developer locally and very keen on trail riding like myself.

Craig Bounds farm in Merthyr Tydfil was our base for two days riding and wasn’t sure what to expect, been many great places in Europe but of course Wales has incredibly great terrain if permission granted by the land owners.

Eight of us checked in to the www.bedlinog-inn.co.uk and settled for one of the best fillet steaks i’ve had for years, in fact since my last trip to South Africa…. Fillet Steak heaven.

Two great days riding with Craig Bounds and his other half Tamsin Jones, the terrain tailored to the whole group. Please it wasn’t much harder really, I still keep myself fit but must admit took me couple days for my body to recover from the pounding.

Plenty of technical sections, massive hill climbs, water crossings, tunnels, and absolutely no road work.

Great couple days, few beers and great company!
