TT 2017

TT this year felt different from the start, co-commentator James Whitham not being there recovering from health issues and of course the weather not being very kind.

Sure for the last few years the Isle of Man has experienced great weather, last year many riders complaining of too much track-time before racing got underway.

Having experienced first hand during TT launch no love lost between MD & Hutchy, Guy Martin returning to the Island course, Hicky, Harrison & Hillier’s very improving pace the scene was set for some great TT racing.

Nice to see Norton letting loose Josh Brookes alongside Davo Johnson so we could now enjoy two of the best sounding bikes round the Isle of Man course.

Big Shout out to Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson, as always great job we only missed out on one race…. Monster Energy Supersport, but at least they get two bites at the cherry.

To sum up the event...

Honda on the back foot without the legend John McGuinness and team mate Guy Martin not on the pace. Great to see Tyco BMW winning RST Superbike TT race, last win being 2008 I believe. Hutchy proving unbeatable on the Stockers, RL360 Quantam Superstock race winner 3rd year on the trot with Tyco BMW again. Still life in the Old Dog Michael Rutter winning Bennetts Lightweight race. Two in a row for hairy Bruce Anstey in the SES Zero, nobody was going to beat him. Birchall domination in both sidecar races, Ben & Tom proving themselves again on the best outfit. Michael Dunlop winning once again the Monster Energy Supersport race.

Blue ribbon Senior race full of drama, red flag after Hutchy’s crash on the Mountain and five riders making big changes for the re-run. Michael Dunlop doing an incredible job developing all week on the GSX-R 1000 Suzuki taking the Senior win. Hillier disappointing with only one podium. Harrison impressive with two SBK podiums with only stocker engine.

Hicky the man to watch in the future, five podiums from 5 races winning the Joey Dunlop award.
